Lawson Software has made generally available Lawson QuickStep Manufacturing, a pre-configured enterprise resource planning (ERP) software package for manufacturers. The application is intended to help users achieve visibility across global supply chains. It combines manufacturing-specific content with built-in best practices based on Lawson's industry expertise and implementation methodology. QuickStep also includes electronic learning tools and documented business processes to help manufacturers speed up employee training. It allows for visibility of production data, management of complex and expanding product lines, visibility of the entire order chain, and implementation of lean manufacturing principles. Users can simplify their software development and respond more quickly to changing customer demand, the vendor said. Lawson also sells QuickStep applications for distribution, asset management, food and beverage, fashion, government and healthcare.
