Vanguard Logistics Services is partnering with RoadLInk to create a new national inland intermodal service. Dubbed DrayMate, the initiative combines neutral ocean services with a neutral drayage option and supporting technology. Together the companies are offering a transparent, end-to-end service to the U.S. and international non-vessel operating common carrier (NVO) community. By teaming up with RoadLink, Vanguard has created a national drayage presence with a common information-technology system. All of the company's domestic and international offices will have immediate access to the drayage product in tandem with its core ocean services. Vanguard will have the ability to extend the ocean leg of cargo with U.S. origin or destination to include a seamless drayage component, all through one portal, the company said. DrayMate will allow Vanguard's worldwide customer-service staff to quote a competitive drayage product and provide complete door moves. Customers will acquire instant visibility of the first or last mile of a full containerload movement. Vanguard and RoadLink expect to provide a seamless service network for more than 170 global partners in Canada, Mexico, Asia-Pacific, Europe and South America. The deal marks the first time that RoadLink has entered into a formal relationship within the NVO community.
