Next Generation Logistics, Inc. has added transportation benchmarking functionality to its FreightMaster TMS suite of transportation-management software. The company is a provider of TMS apps, managed freight services and supply-chain consulting. The new enhancement, allows companies to load internally generated or externally purchased benchmark rates by freight lane into FreightMaster TMS. The system then automatically compares existing rates to the benchmark rates. According to NGL, the tool makes it easier for users of FreightMaster TMS to understand how their rates compare with those in the marketplace, and to identify trends on a more frequent basis. Companies can also achieve a better sense of where they stand before negotiating new contracts with carriers. NGL is extending the benchmarking capability as a service to both users and on-users of FreightMaster TMS, available by subscription. NGL works primarily with companies in the food and beverage and consumer-products industries. It is a Certified Microsoft Gold Partner.
