Consumer-electronics manufacturers that are selling products online in Europe and North America can administer, collect and remit fees in compliance with regulations on copyright, end-of-life recycling of electronic equipment, and battery recycling. The tool is integrated into Digital River's globalCommerce command console, a self-service, Web-based remote control offering that can be used to manage the daily operations of the vendor's e-commerce software. The technology houses a central database with regulatory fees and product- or country-specific mandates. It allows merchants to attach fees to products and display them on required Web pages. It integrates with accounting and tax systems to streamline fee accounting and reconciliation. And it tracks sales and collected fees by local compliance requirements. Digital River's products are geared to software publishers, consumer-technology manufacturers, distributors, online retailers and affiliates.
