Kewill plc has devised an integrated software application which is intended to help logistics service providers and manufacturers to process customs declarations in multiple countries. Kewill CustomsXchange acts as a messaging hub, in which customs information is entered in the same format and via the same interface regardless of its final destination. The tool handles the onward connections to customs or legislative authorities, using local customs applications, developed in each country by local experts. According to Kewill, CustomsXchange will provide companies with a better idea of the true cost of managing customs procedures, while increasing speed to market for new countries. It can help users to comply with a wide range of new regulations coming into force, including Europe's Export Control System and Import Control System, and the new "10+2" data-filing requirement of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
