SAP AG, taking aim at the mid-market customer base, plans to integrate pre-configured SAP BusinessObjects applications into the vendor's Business All-in-One software. The latter will now include business-intelligence functionality from the BusinessObjects portfolio, including pre-built reports and dashboards. SAP also announced a plan to speed the implementation of its software through the use of BusinessObjects data-migration tools. The technology supports the full cycle of migration needs, including extracting, mapping, validation, loading and reconciliation of data across the organization. According to SAP, the new business-intelligence functionality is meant to support the improved viewing by customers of trends and variances. Users can deploy systems more rapidly with the help of content and best practices that are specific to their needs, the vendor said. In the process, it claimed, they should see a faster return on investment and lower costs related to system implementation, training, support and administration. BI functionality with Business All-in-One will be available through SAP and its channel partners later this year. SAP currently envisions an initial rollout in Brazil, Germany and the U.S., with plans to add countries over time.
