RedPrairie Corp. has integrated a parcel-management module into its Transportation Management and Warehouse Management software suites. According to the vendor, the new system will provide opportunities for shipment consolidation and best-rate shipping, as well as synchronized order picking to match consolidated shipments and optimize warehouse labor. The tool is compliant with a number of major carriers, providing approved label formats, shipping paperwork, carrier services and electronic manifesting. Parcel is also available as a standalone application, making it suitable for pure parcel shippers as well as companies not using RedPrairie's fully integrated suite. RedPrairie also announced extension of the software-as-a-service (SaaS) model across its full line of products. All can now be contracted on a buy-by-user, by-order or by-site basis. Companies can rapidly scale RedPrairie applications up or down at a lower cost, the vendor said. Finally, RedPrairie has introduced a Promotion Execution for Grocery application, designed to help business administrators ensure that promotion plans are carried out properly in stores. The new system can help companies to resolve problems and improve worker productivity through photo verification. It can be installed and be live in stores within a week, the company claimed.
