NetSuite Inc., a vendor of software for mid-sized businesses and divisions of large companies, said it plans to offer a new Financial Planning module. The application will complement the company's on-demand capabilities in the areas of enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM) and electronic commerce. The new module will give companies access to sophisticated planning and "what-if" modeling capabilities that are typically available only to large corporations deploying on-premise enterprise software, NetSuite said. Financial Planning provides real-time, drill-down data on plan-versus-actual variance. In a related announcement, Epiphany, Inc., a NetSuite product provider and SuiteCloud Developer Network partner, has made available eContracts. Offered within NetSuite, the tool automates the tracking of warranties, maintenance contracts and renewals, as well as software license and renewal management. eContracts was built by Epiphany using the NetSuite Business Operating System (NS-BOS), a development platform for on-demand business applications based on NetSuite's ERP, CRM and e-commerce functionality.
