CargoSmart Limited has made available a software application for complying with the new Importer Security Filing (ISF) rule, also known as the "10+2" rule, of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The tool allows importers and logistics service providers to collect the required ISF data elements from multiple sources, consolidate the data, submit it to Customs and monitor the document workflow and filing status. According to CargoSmart, the application helps customers to streamline their data collection, comply with filing requirements and avoid late filings and penalties. Automated data collection minimizes the time spent manually gathering, consolidating and tracking required information from all parties, CargoSmart said. Filers can collect information from third parties, upload data from their internal systems and supplement the information online. Dashboards allow users to see when filing data has not been received on time, or if filings have not been accepted. Through management by exception, customers can focus on the shipments that require the most attention. CargoSmart offers a variety of global shipping and logistics applications through the software-as-a-service (SaaS) model.
