Cadec Global, a vendor of fleet-management technology, has launched DeliveryTracker DCS, a handheld pickup and delivery application. The tool extends the process of supply chain management all the way to the delivery point, the company said. It is especially well-suited for operations that rely on independent contractors, whose needs for core onboard computing functionality might not match those of the parent fleet. Operators get multiple capabilities related to inventory tracking, including electronic manifests, dynamic pickup and delivery instructions, invoice printing, barcode scanning and electronic signature capture, without the need for an onboard computer. Independent operators can collect and wirelessly convey pickup and delivery details back to the office in real time. Fleet managers can gain more visibility into delivery status and the productivity of independent operators. DeliveryTracker DCS helps to reduce invoicing errors and enables companies to generate invoices more quickly, Cadec says.
