RedPrairie Corp. has brought new asset-management capabilities to its Warehouse Management software. The functionality was previously found in the vendor's Mobile Resource Management application. The enhancement will provide Web visibility for serialized assets, as well as improved integration of radio frequency identification (RFID) yard transactions, RedPrairie said. In the past, companies have had to use separate programs to track inventory and assets in motion, said Tom Kosenski, vice president of product strategy. Once trailers were en route to their destination, a different application had to be deployed to provide true visibility. RedPrairie's Warehouse Management can now track those assets via the Web, and adjust loading and unloading procedure to match specific locations. In addition, the enhanced warehouse software will provide improved visibility into inventory and workforce over multiple buildings in a facility, along with the ability to dispatch trailers in groups.
