Consona Corp., a vendor of enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management software, has released version 5.2 of Relevant. The ERP application is designed specifically for defense manufacturers. It helps them to meet the specialized Earned Value Management requirements of U.S. Department of Defense contractors. The update contains a number of customer-requested enhancements and a new quality module. Through user-defined codes, it identifies an item's defect and cause, and suggests corrective action. The module features a quality workbench which guides users through the inspection process. The tool also allows an inspector to pass or fail an item, and gather statistics. Quality processes can be initiated from purchase-order receipts, shop-floor operations and return material authorization (RMA) receipts. In the area of service and repair, version 5.2 has been integrated with work-breakdown structure, contract billing and sales-order RMAs. It also includes budget archive and retrieval capabilities, integrated roll-up processing and budget simulation processing and comparison. A material requirements planning feature drives a pegging record from demand to supply, down to the bill-of-material structure.
