CarrierWeb, a vendor of mobile communications and information-management services, has added features to LogsManager, its on-board recording system for truckers' electronic logs. The tool is compliant with the most current hours-of-service (HOS) regulations propagated by the U.S. Department of Transportation. LogsManager ensures that dispatchers and drivers are always aware of the driver's status and availability. All duty-status changes are entered electronically on the in-cab CarrierMate driver display. Drivers can review their status there, and dispatchers can monitor their availability via the CarrierWeb customer website. Users of the CarrierMate mobile communications system can add LogsManager without an additional hardware purchase, the vendor said. Drivers can keep more accurate records, while receiving audible and text alerts informing them of their HOS status. They get current 24-hour log details, and the seven- or eight-day history needed for compliance. At the same time, compliance managers get immediate access to all information necessary for meeting government regulations.
