ICON-SCM, a vendor of software for supply-chain planning and collaboration, has developed the ICON-SCM Supply Chain Planning application, with the ability to calculate users' carbon-dioxide emissions. The new CO2 Planning feature helps customers to reduce their carbon footprint related to supply-chain and logistics operations. According to ICON-SCM, more companies are considering the environmental consequences of their sourcing, production and delivery planning. The new application gives them additional insight into how they can make better environmental choices within complex global supply chains. It offers a "best-case scenario" for companies that need to consider multiple factors, including environmental considerations, in their supply-chain decision-making. ICON-SCM's products include applications for supply-chain planning, collaboration and supply liability management.
