Rutgers University's Center for Innovative Ventures of Emerging Technologies (CIVET) has joined with RFID TagSource to launch the Rutgers University RFID Research Center. The venture is located on the Rutgers Busch Campus in Piscataway, N.J. It combines laboratory facilities with real-world insight into how RFID is being utilized across the globe, along with the tools required to support research activities that can lead to near-term commercial applications. The center will also be used to host industry seminars, executive forums, continuing education classes and independent research projects in support of industry, government and Department of Defense RFID initiatives. RFID TagSource has been working with Rutgers for several months to develop technical resources, industry insight and guidance on research projects and service offerings, according to managing director Kevin Donahue.
