Qmastor Ltd., an Australian vendor of software for bulk materials management, has opened a new office in Denver as part of the company expansion of support for key mining regions in North America. Managing director Trent Bagnall said the company has identified "significant opportunities" for its systems in Canada and the U.S. Establishment of a local office is a key step in the strategy to enhance its regional presence, he added. The announcement follows Qmastor's signing of a contract with Jim Walter Resources, a metallurgical coal producer based in Birmingham, Ala., for a comprehensive supply-chain management system. The North America operations will be managed by Phil Ciezak, who has served as business development and marketing manager for Qmastor's Australian operations.
