Symphony Metreo Inc. has launched a new set of services for sales and operations planning, revenue management and pricing. Offered under the name of Operations Services, the initiative draws on expert domain practitioners and analytic technology tools to address supply-chain planning and forecasting. The delivery model identifies initial opportunities for improvement, then provides the capabilities required to tackle those issues. The vendor embeds best practices for S&OP under what it calls a "Make the Numbers Approach." A centralized "control tower" provides a single version of the truth across the organization. Analytics help planners to identify the root causes of problems and the actions necessary to solving them. Structured workflows and "what-if" scenarios guide them through multiple prescribed analytic paths. Operations Services works with clients to clean and consolidate data considered essential to the S&OP process. In addition, the vendor helps to execute a plan that achieves the right mix of S&OP capabilities drawn from its own resources and those of the client.
