Appian Logistics Software has acquired TruckStops North America from MicroAnalytics. The latter is a developer of computerized fleet-routing technology. It has more than 2,800 installations of the TruckStops system nationwide, with offices in Arlington, Va. and Toronto, Ont. Under its deal with Appian, MicroAnalytics will continue to market and sell the BUSTOPS and OptiSite systems in North America, and the TruckStops system outside of North America. U.K. customers will continue to be served by MapMechanics, the exclusive provider of TruckStops to that market for nearly 20 years. Appian recently released its Direct Route V9 system for the Windows .NET platform. The new deal adds TruckStops North America to its product portfolio. Appian develops software aimed at transportation companies. With the addition of TruckStops North America, it how has a customer base exceeding 3,600 installations.
