Kewill plc, a vendor of global trade and logistics software with headquarters in the U.K., has made generally available a new version of Kewill Forwarding. The product is a global, integrated freight-forwarding application for the management of multimodal logistics. Version 3.0 includes an expanded Global Shipment module, providing visibility from point of creation to completion. Overseas and handling agents can use the module to check potential inbound shipments as soon as bookings are created at the origin office; the controlling and offshore offices can check all relevant data. Features of Kewill Forwarding include multilingual and multi-currency capabilities, a Job Costing and Profit Sharing module, and collaborative Web portal allowing for online tracking, freight booking and management of purchase orders and inventory. The tool also provides direct integration with other Kewill applications, including the vendor's Compliance Suite, as well as with a wide range of best-of-breed systems. Additional capabilities include enhancements to triangle shipment processing, automated and fully integrated eDoc facilities, and an improved pre-alert process.
