The Aras Innovator suite of Aras, a vendor of open-source software for product lifecycle management (PLM), has been certified for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2. The application is the first PLM offering to achieve that designation, the vendor claimed. Certification provides independent validation that Aras's software is scalable, reliable and secure on the Microsoft platform. Windows Server 2008 R2 certification involves more than 100 test cases which verify an application's compliance with Microsoft-recommended standards for deployment on the new Windows Server platform. The 2008 R2 version adds a number of features with support for multi-core processing, network load balancing and advanced data-center visualization with Hyper-V.
