Royal 4 Systems has joined with Vangard Voice Systems, Inc. to offer voice-enabled warehouse-management system (WMS) applications to "price-sensitive" warehouse markets. Royal 4 is a vendor of supply-chain software; Vangard is the developer of the AccuSpeech Mobile Voice Platform (MVP). Under the new arrangement, Royal 4 will offer its W.I.S.E. WMS with voice-directed capabilities, supported by Vangard's device-resident, "server-less" interface. Users of Royal 4 warehouse applications will have all of their voice-translation functions delivered from their mobile devices of choice, instead of from servers. In the process, the partners said, they can avoid costly implementations. The combined technology will provide a voice-activated user interface for data entry, application and device controls, voice prompting and rapid WMS text-to-speech commands. Royal 4 designs software for the distribution, logistics and manufacturing segments of the supply chain.
