Next Generation Logistics Inc. has created a "plug-and-play" integration between its FreightMaster TMS (transportation management system) suite and Microsoft Dynamics AX, Microsoft's enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. The integration was developed jointly with NMB Solutions, a Microsoft partner for multi-carrier shipping technology. For the first time, Dynamics AX customers get access to multi-mode management of parcel, less than truckload and truckload through a single vendor, NGL said. In the process, NGL can provide the Dynamics AX user community with a best-of-breed TMS that fits within their technology investment, said Aristides Smith, president and chief executive officer of NGL. The company works primarily with companies in the food and beverage and consumer products industries.
