RedPrairie Corp. has updated its Warehouse Management software by improving the process of labeling for compliance with GS1 barcoding standards. Customers no longer need discern between ASN and GS1 varieties of labels; they can now define their own barcode templates to support additional types of inbound labels that contain multiple receiving identifiers. The new system automatically scans and parses for the appropriate data, RedPrairie said. The new 2010.1 release of Warehouse Management also allows users to set up override conditions for each supplier and vendors. The change enables the configuration of items, lot formats, serial number types and default asset types, shortening the time required by inbound personnel to determine the attributes with which an item should be associated during the receipt of non-ASN inventory. In another company announcement, RedPrairie has established its own operations in Africa, with the opening of a head office in Johannesburg, South Africa. For the past 10 years, the company has been represented in Africa through its value-added reseller, VSc Solutions.
