HighJump Software Inc. has entered into a partnership with MercuryGate, to augment its transportation management system (TMS) applications. The deal adds a number of features to HighJump's current supply-chain management software, including functionality for the handling of international inbound and outbound transportation, and TMS capability for third-party logistics providers. HighJump's TMS can now coordinate multi-stop, multimodal shipments, including those moving by ocean, air, rail, less-than-truckload, truckload and parcel. The tool also supports multi-currency and inter-geography shipments. According to HighJump, 3PL users can more easily add clients and deploy transportation-management capabilities across all of their clients. HighJump deploys its technology under a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, shortening implementation time and reducing the need for internal resources on the part of the user.
