Inttra, a vendor of electronic-commerce technology for the ocean freight industry, has facilitated the first ocean freight invoice to be transmitted through Inttra eInvoice, an electronic presentment and payment platform specifically designed for that mode. The first transaction to be processed by Inttra eInvoice was submitted by CMA CGM (America) LLC to Golden Bridge International, Inc., a non-vessel operating common carrier. Philippe Salles, director of e-commerce for CMA CGM, said the invoice transmittal follows the automation of booking and bill of lading processes. Tracy Yang, general manager of Golden Bridge International, said Inttra eInvoice helps the NVO to receive, approve and pay freight invoices electronically in a secure environment. The technology also allows for tracking, and the disputing of an invoice or line item. Inttra works with more than 30 ocean carriers and their customers to standardize shipping processes through a network of more than 20,000 corporate locations. The Inttra platform hosts more than 300,000 container orders, accounting for greater than 10 percent of global ocean container trade, each week.
