DT Research Inc. has added two units to its line of handheld, point-of-sale devices. The WebDT 410 and WebDT 415 are designed for quick customer-service applications such as mobile order-taking, ticket scanning and payment processing, as well as inventory management. Both feature a 3.5-inch, resistive-touch, outdoor-viewable display. According to DT Research, they are the first handheld devices to include a fully integrated magnetic stripe reader (MSR), radio frequency identification (RFID) and barcode scanner. They can be designated for specific applications and business processes. The WebDT 400 models feature a rugged design with an IP54 rating for liquid and dust resistance, making them suitable for use in commercial, outdoor, warehousing, healthcare and hospitality environments. The WebDT 410 includes a fully integrated MSR and RFID reader; the 415 adds a barcode scanner. The WebDT Device manager simplifies the management of multiple devices, especially those used in large deployments, such as in retail, restaurants, hotels and entertainment.
