Descartes Systems Group has acquired Routing International nv, a Brussels, Belgium-based developer and distributor of optimized route planning applications. Routing International's tools will become part of Descartes MRM 2.0 suite, combining optimized, real-time planning with wireless mobile technology for the management of resources in motion. The deal expands Descartes' presence in Europe, the company said. Formed in 1990, Routing International has specialized in route planning for distribution-intensive companies through its flagship application known as WinRoute. Routing International's European customer base adds more than 200 members to Descartes' federated Global Logistics Network. MRM 2.0 is part of Descartes' Resources in Motion Management Systems (RIMMS) initiative.
