BirdDog Solutions Inc. has added a hosted rating and routing application to its online services portal, BirdDog OnDemand. The move allows the company to provide a broad range of planning and execution features, including transportation analysis, procurement, execution, audit and payment capabilities through a combination of managed services and software as a service (SaaS). The result, said the vendor, is a closed-loop platform for transportation management. In addition, customers can draw on the expertise of a group of former carrier pricing executives, while outsourcing all or part of their operations to BirdDog's freight-management team. All services are accessible through BirdDog's integrated information platform, BirdDog OnDemand. The vendor's products are aimed at mid-market companies.
