The CMA CGM Group recently observed the inaugural call in Seattle of the CMA CGM Rabelais, a containership with capacity of 6,500 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs). The vessel operates on the carrier's Columbus loop, a pendulum service linking Japan, China and Southeast Asia with the U.S. East Coast via the Suez Canal, and Southeast Asia, China and Korea with the Pacific Northwest and Vancouver, B.C. Responding to growing market demand on its Asia/trans-Pacific routes, CMA CGM recently standardized its fleet with introduction of the latest-generation 6,250-TEU vessels, bringing its total fleet to 15 ships. Rotation of the service is Seattle, Vancouver, Yokohama, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Yantian, Tanjung Pelapas, Suez Canal, New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Suez Canal, Tanjung Pelapas, Hong Kong, Yantian, Shanghai, Pusan and Seattle.
