PeopleNet is partnering with ITS Compliance, Inc. to provide a range of services for trucking fleets. PeopleNet is a vendor of internet-based and onboard mobile communications systems for fleet management. ITS aids in driver and vehicle compliance and risk management for private, for-hire and leasing fleets. According to the two companies, the new arrangement will provide benefits in global positioning system (GPS) data integration, fleet reporting, data analysis and cost reduction in compliance management. At the outset, customers can draw on ITS's paperless Fuel Tax Reporting Service. Additional data-integration initiatives are underway for driver qualification file maintenance and vehicle registration asset management. The partnership merges PeopleNet's GPS tracking and fuel-purchase information with ITS's fuel-tax reporting capability, to calculate all state taxes based on fuel, mileage and highway use. The service also provides comprehensive fleet tax analysis reporting, tax return preparation and submittal, data retention and IFTA/IRP audit management.
