Crimson & Co., a supply-chain consultancy based in the U.K., has published a new book entitled "Supply Chain Excellence: Driving Sustainable Improvement." With a forward by Janet Godsell of the Cranfield School of Management, the book is co-authored by Crimson & Co. consultants. It describes a supply-chain excellence benchmarking approach that can be applied to a wide range of businesses, with a focus on developing strategic objectives. It seeks to give business units a clearer understanding of their key processes, with the goals of initiating process improvement and standardization, cost reduction and the elimination of weaknesses in the supply chain. According to Nick Miller, principal consultant at Crimson & Co. and editor of Supply Chain Excellence, clients using the methods described in the book have realized "significant" benefits, in the form of higher service levels, reduced costs and standardized processes.
