Trac Intermodal has developed a new product, Trac Connect, to provide chassis rental, leasing and related services to the international drayage community. The Web-based marketplace offers information on marine chassis that are needed on a short- to medium-term basis. Available through the company's website, www.tracconnect.com, the service provides a variety of tools for managing chassis activity. Customers can deploy the equipment for multiple moves and terminals. Trac Connect is currently available through the MetroPool chassis pool, located in New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, Penn. and Baltimore, MD, as well as Mobile, Ala. The company said it is adding locations in line with the future needs of customers. Trac Intermodal is a provider of marine and domestic chassis operating in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, with an active fleet of 245,000 units. Operations include long-term leasing, short-term rentals through neutral pool programs, and pool and fleet management through the company's PoolStat system.
