NetSuite Inc., a vendor of hosted financial and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, has launched the NetSuite Accountant Program. The product allows accountants to draw on "cloud" computing services in order to run clients' financials on NetSuite. Services include secure, real-time, browser-based access to clients' NetSuite accounts, at their discretion, and preferred rates on training classes to hone their NetSuite skills. Users also get a demonstration account to test transaction and report implications in a non-production environment. The vendor is providing the program at no charge to accounting firms and clients who are running NetSuite. Cloud-based financials enable users to securely collaborate through real-time access to accounts, with the ability to resolve accounting issues and close the books faster than previously possible, according to NetSuite. By joining the program, an accounting firm achieves elective eligibility for a 10-percent commission on the first year's license for new referrals that translate to NetSuite customers.
