Tideworks Technology Inc. has introduced Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) as a Service. According to the vendor, the offering simplifies the implementation and maintenance of EDI between the terminal and trading partners, drawing on technology, visibility tools and industry knowledge of Tideworks' EDI team. Tideworks supports the EDI needs of more than 40 terminals around the world, and is one of the top trading partners of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The company provides a Web-based visibility tool to help customers monitor the status of their EDI messages. The service also offers a newly designed open architecture, the incorporation of application programming interfaces (APIs), and user-defined processing rules. The Tideworks product consists of five services: EDI Translation and Communications, Trading Partner Management, Automated Manifest System, Program Management and EDI Visibility. Featuring a pay-as-you-go pricing model, the offering does not require customers to hire dedicated EDI resources or invest in infrastructure. It can be deployed in conjunction with Tideworks' Terminal Operating System (TOS) software, or with another TOS.
