Matson Navigation Co. has expanded its China-Long Beach Express service, with vessel departures from Hong Kong and Yantian, and a second weekly call at Shanghai. The new weekly service extends the carrier's geographic reach to the South China region, including Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta. A second string of vessels allows Matson to offer twice-weekly service from Shanghai and weekly service from Hong Kong, Yantian, Xiamen and Ningbo to Long Beach, Calif. The service augmentation includes a new direct westbound service to China, linking Southern California and the U.S. interior to Hong Kong, Shanghai and the Pearl River Delta. Matson provides ocean transportation services to Hawaii, Guam, China and Micronesia, as well as logistics services through its Matson Integrated Logistics subsidiary.
