Infor has developed version 6.4 of Infor SCM Demand Planning. The software is part of the vendor's Supply Chain Management suite. It helps companies to boost forecasting accuracy and feed more data into the demand-planning process, according to Infor. New features enhance the involvement of sales and marketing in the forecasting process, and suppliers in the ordering process. The vendor combines advanced statistical capabilities with market knowledge drawn from internal and external data collaboration, to improve the accuracy of demand plans and create a single, global view of the "truth." Companies can minimize inventory levels, resulting in reduced obsolescence and improved customer service, Infor said. Demand Planning 6.4 can be implemented at a single site or centrally, to manage a global demand plan with multiple channels. A feature known as EditGrid allows planners quickly to edit many forecasts in daily, weekly or monthly buckets. Changes can be rapidly made to individual and multiple periods, as well as multiple products simultaneously. New Excel options promote continuous collaboration throughout the requirements-planning process. Companies can provide current orders to suppliers updating critical information. The changes are then fed back into the system for more accurate supply plans.
