Infosys Technologies Ltd. has developed version 2.0 of its Finacle Mobile Banking application. The software allows retail and corporate consumers to access banking services through mobile SMS, GPRS, 3G and USSD-enabled handsets. It supports multiple hosts, languages, channels and currencies. Among the financial-management processes to be enabled by the tool are product selection, proximity payments, remote deposit capture, new account opening, and ATM or branch locating through GPS technology. Additional services include mobile ticketing, top-up and marketing. According to Infosys, the application's integration framework allows for seamless integration with disparate host systems. Two-factor authentication and encryption help to ensure the fidelity of transactions. The device-agnostic product supports more than 8,000 mobile handsets, including basic models and smart devices such as the iPhone, BlackBerry and iPad. Banks can use the Finacle Mobile Bank-in-a-Box, a pre-configured and pre-integrated tool for rapid mobile banking deployment.
