Ortec has released the 2010 version of its Tactical Route Planner (TRP). The software can be used to streamline and balance the workload over geographical areas and to schedule periodic visits over a given time period. According to the vendor, Ortec TRP creates optimized plans with a more evenly balanced workload, which can be used as the starting point for operational execution. TRP 2010 features enhancements in performance and calculation speed, along with a new planning dashboard and client grid. The dashboard includes all of the elements required for creating plans, offering a detailed overview of the entire planning process. The client grid can be used for decision-making at the client level. Users can select a specified client and view or amend all client visits simultaneously. In the past, only individual visits could be displayed. Another improvement, set for inclusion in the next enhancement package of Ortec TRP, will boost support for the creation and maintenance of geographical service areas. The feature enables the entire planning area to be divided into polygons, or multi-angle figures, based on service areas that have been assigned to clients during the planning process. New clients can be automatically assigned to a service area based on their geographical locations.
