Logistix Solutions has updated Logix, the vendor's on-demand software for modeling logistics and supply-chain operations. Logix3.1 allows users to determine optimal distribution strategies, facility locations and sourcing alternatives. A new Supply Chain Modeler offers a graphical representation of the supply chain. Users can view up to eight levels of supply-chain distribution, including suppliers, ports and terminals, warehouses, distribution centers, intermodal facilities, cross-docks, fleets and customers. A reverse location selection feature allows each candidate facility to be compared in one display. An Inbound Optimizer for strategic sourcing allocates limited supply to demand based on total landed cost and supplier capacity for each product. The standard version offers up to 5,000 demand points; custom applications expand to 10,000 or more suppliers, distribution facilities and customers.
