BlueStar Inc., the global distributor of radio frequency identification (RFID), point-of-sale, mobility and security technology, has added the RL4 label printer from Datamax-O'Neil to its product portfolio. The unit is a rugged four-inch label printer, designed for tough environments found in manufacturing, transportation and logistics. It was designed to the MIL-STD 810 drop standard, which requires 26 consecutive drops at six feet to concrete. The Rl4 offers the ability to load and unload media using only one hand. Its optimized LCD screen was designed with input from usability experts, according to BlueStar. It is compatible with a variety of warehouse-management systems, including SAP, Oracle and AS/400 protocols, as well as many common label design software packages.
