Oracle Corp. has made available new versions of Oracle Transportation Management and Oracle Global Trade Management. Version 6.2 of Transportation Management includes fleet-management enhancements for shipment and asset optimization, dispatch workflow automation, geographic visualization and mobile communications. New transportation sourcing features support requirements for procuring and optimizing less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation services. Enhancements to transportation planning can optimize order consolidation and three-dimensional equipment load configuration, while the application's business-intelligence component includes support for Oracle Data Integrator. Oracle has also included enhancements for small-parcel and rail transportation. New capabilities within version 6.2 of Global Trade Management include packaged integration with the Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 for sales order and delivery compliance screening. Usability improvements streamline the resolution of orders on trade compliance hold. Users also get product classification of items based on a "rollup" of an item's sub-component classifications.
