Epicor Software Corp. has introduced Epicor Retail Enterprise Store Central, a system for managing transactions within multi-channel retail organizations. The tool enables the full spectrum of point-of-sale (POS) and other sales functions across stores and channels. It serves as a single integration point for transaction "basket" logic, by combining data from all channels. The result, said Epicor, is simplified shopping and streamlined information management, with the blending of electronic commerce and brick-and-mortar activities. A store administration interface supports centralized configuration management. Central monitoring functionality helps retailers to ensure the health of their POS hardware, via alert and log enhancements, as well as integration with IBM's RMA/Director monitoring technology. Enterprise Store Central also provides the engine for digital receipts. In another company announcement, Epicor has made its retail applications accessible on the Apple iPad and iPhone, as well as other tablet devices. Retailers can use the equipment to place orders, process sales transactions and support other retail applications such as Business Intelligence, Enterprise Selling and Customer Relationship Management.
