Panjiva has released Trendspotting, an application to aid sourcing executives. The tool intelligently sorts and organizes U.S. Census Bureau data, presenting a view of which countries or regions regularly export a particular item. Trendspotting integrates with Panjiva Search to enable users to identify specific suppliers within a matter of clicks, the vendor said. The new product uses Census data to examine the macro trends that are shaping global trade where suppliers operate. Trendspotting integrates the data on a monthly basis, translating Census Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes into everyday language and allowing users to search for a specific item or related group of items. The "Save" feature allows users quickly to revisit common searches with up-to-date information. Trendspotting offers the option to search by item name or 10-digit HTS code, the ability to export reports to Excel or PDF format, and an export view, providing insight into items shipped out of the U.S. Users can navigate through the entire process of bringing on new suppliers, from broad geographical analysis to conducting due diligence prior to signing up specific partners.
