Version 24.1 of PC-Miler/Worldwide, the popular routing, mileage and mapping software, has been successfully tested and integrated with the latest release of Descartes Transportation Manager. The Descartes application is a cloud-based transportation-management system designed for shippers and third-party logistics providers. It offers capability for shipment planning, execution and settlement of freight charges with contract carriers. Tasks supported by the system include order and contract management, optimized consolidation, rating and carrier selection, shipment tracking, freight bill auditing and performance reports in a multi-modal environment. PC-Miler/Worldwide provides truck-specific distances and transit times for use in network optimization, freight payment, rating and carrier-selection applications. New features and enhancements of version 24.1 include a green gas emissions estimator to calculate carbon footprint per route, custom vehicle profiles to keep route settings consistent for selected vehicle types, and postal code coverage throughout Australia, Brazil, India, Japan, New Zealand, the Russian Federation, South Africa, Turkey and Ukraine.
