The February 3 announcement came only hours after Mexico negotiated a similar delay.

India had banned Shein, TikTok and several other Chinese apps in 2020, over claims that China's government had used the apps to steal user data.

Sheinbaum said that, during a “long” conversation with Trump, they agreed that the U.S. will delay imposing 25% tariffs on goods from Mexico for a month.
