Pitney Bowes, a global commerce technology company, says parcel shipping volume will grow at an annual rate of 5 to 7 percent through 2018, with cross border shipping leading the way, according to the company's Parcel Shipping Index annual report.
More than two-thirds of consumers who have ever made a domestic online purchase have also made an online purchase from another country in the past year, according to an annual online shopping survey by Pitney Bowes, an e-commerce technology company. Singapore (89 percent), Australia (86 percent) and Hong Kong (85 percent) have the highest number of cross-border shoppers, while countries like Japan (34 percent) and the U.S. (45 percent) are still growing in cross-border confidence.
Most Americans plan to shop both in stores (94 percent) and online (92 percent) this holiday season, with 94 percent of consumers planning to shop from a computer and 49 percent making purchases from a mobile device, according to the 2015 Holiday Shipping Survey from Pitney Bowes.
