Customs Info, provider of a trade-data repository via Web-based subscription, has made available a free Ci Mobile application for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Users of Ci Mobile can create unlimited item-classification files, save a picture of an item, save a voice note describing an item, classify an item for 152 countries and territories, view tariff schedules and obtain duty and tax information for 150 countries and territories, perform international mapping and classification on the fly, view more than 200,000 U.S. Customs and Border Protection rulings, and e-mail an item and all associated data. Users do not have to be Customs Info subscribers in order to access the mobile version. They can obtain it by searching the app store from their phones for "Ci Mobile." Future versions of Ci Mobile will enable Ci subscribers to sync their Web-based accounts with handheld devices, include Droid support, and provide a back-end database inside of the Web version of Customs Info, so that users can classify in the warehouse and find data in their desktops.
