Volition Consulting Services, a unit of Imperial Logistics, has acquired a majority stake in Commerce Edge, a provider of procurement education and training in Africa. Volition is a professional services company focused on various aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, operations planning, distribution, logistics and integration. Its client base includes companies in banking, automotive, mining, consumer packaged goods and the public sector. Commerce Edge provides off-the-shelf and customized training courses, competency assessments, personalized development programs and coaching. Some of its training is provided through the Commerce Edge Academy, an international study center for the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply. Both Volition and Commerce Edge have a strong presence in Africa and the Middle East, the companies said. Imperial Logistics South Africa provides a variety of supply-chain services through five divisions: Transport and Warehousing, Consumer Products, Specialised Freight, Integration Services and Africa.
