IES Ltd., a vendor of transportation software, has introduced an application to provide visibility of import shipments and aid in compliance with new regulations by U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP). Dubbed TruVis, the enhancement helps customs brokers to transition to more complete electronic record-keeping and retention processes, the vendor said. The agency's new rule will allow brokers to store digital documents if the records are easily accessible on demand. According to TruVis, the tool eliminates the possibility of misplaced documents or unauthorized access. The software can be configured automatically to capture documents at key milestones, and publish them to the IES Web Tracking visibility tool if required. Records can be stored and viewed with the execution of a simple command, IES said. TruVis also features a role-based permissioning system which grants viewing access while maintaining a detailed audit log of who created, accessed, printed or e-mailed a document.
