Kinnek.com, provider of an online procurement platform, has launched a business-to-business search engine called Kinnek Explore. The tool draws on Kinnek's database of actual quotes submitted by suppliers for thousands of unique products. As a result, the vendor claimed, it provides a more focused search capability than browsing through large, generalized directories of suppliers. Kinnek's platform allows businesses to request customized quotes from suppliers for their purchases. Each time a supplier submits a quote for a specific product on Kinnek.com, information about the quote is added to the Kinnek Explore database, enabling other businesses that are researching the same product to find that supplier. Kinnek claims a user base of more than 5,000 businesses.
